Embedding a Youtube video - cannot be displayed in a frame
Sep 08, 2016
Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to embed a YouTube video in a story I'm developing using Storyline 2. When I copy the URL and paste it into the Address field in the Edit Web Object dialogue box I get the following message: "The web address you entered cannot be displayed in a frame. In order to function properly, this web object must be set to open in a new browser window". Is there anyway to use a YouTube video without it opening a new browser window? I'm concerned that our learners might be confused by having to navigate away from the eLearning course to a new window to view the video and then navigate back to complete the training. Thoughts or suggestions would be welcome! Thanks.

You need to change the web object's URL string to: "https://www.youtube.com/embed/Zw0pHT47AAU"
You can also add options to the URL string that allow you to better control the appearance and functionality of the YouTube video. See here for details.
Thank you Michael! That was very helpful. And I made a note to myself for future reference :). This is the first time I've used this forum to ask for help and it was a great experience. Thanks again!
Thanks, I'll take a closer look at this information.
So glad to hear that Darlene and glad that Michael was able to assist you here. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
