Hi, I use a lot of engage and quizmaker files by embedding them into pageson Moodel. I've tried to do the same with Storyline, and it throws up an error about not being able to locate data.swf. I can embed as an iframe, but that has downsides when you use different resolutions.
I was just wondering if it is possible to embed the story.swf file as an object, and if so, what I'm doing wrong...
Do I take it there is no answer to this then? I have since looked at the html on the published page, but it appears to be a lot of javascript, and so not a simple tag.
I too have come across this issue. I'll be looking into it more to see if there is a way around it.
But at this point I'm thinking that they've written some (javascript/actionscript) that derives the folder structure from the current URL. Hence why it works in an iFrame and not while embedded. This may prove to be a rather large issue, that may not be fixable.
Hopefully I can find a fix. But this may simply always require an iFrame. :/
The problem with iframes is that if someone has a computer with a different resolution, they can end up scrolling up and down and left and right to see everything. At least with an object, it resizes relevant tot he page you are on and resolution you are viewing in.
Let me know if you work anything out. I'll keep trying too!
I remember reading something about the output folder being named after the storyline file, so wouldnt placing the storyline output folder relative to the embeded SWF not allow them to work?
Im surprised that Articlate staff have not come in on this yet after so much time passed.
Currently, the only supported way of embedding Articulate content into a web page is using iframes. Anything beyond that, would make a for a good feature request. Thanks for the ongoing discussion!
Yeah but the problem is at least unless I am doing something stupid... when I put it in my joomla page using an iframe it shows up the size of a matchbox... so unuseable... condidering it should be about A5 in size.
We are struggling with this too. Going to submit a feature request for a way to directly embed Storyline objects in HTML without the use of iframes. It can be done with Captivate, so I'm hoping something similar could be done with Storyline.
There isn't a change to this set up so you'll want to look at the method for using the iframe as before and you can see the documentation for Storyline 2 here.
Hi! I'm trying to embed my Storyline project into our company's Google site (Intranet) and have used the iframe information from the link above to no avail. For the "URL" I have used the ftp information (ftp://user@......../story.html). Do you have any guidance as to what I might be doing wrong?
I know when I grab a link from my FTP site the user information is often listed twice - like aterwilliger/aterwilliger.articulatetesting.com....story.html and I have to remove the first mention of my name. Perhaps there are some extra characters in there?

Hey guys,

What may I be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance

Can someone SHOW me sites where storyline has been embedded into the page of the site?

Is this problem - with embedding storyline directly in html - solved in the meantime? It would be a great option!

Hi Birgit,
