I have previously used Storyline 3 to create a file which has been published, and have corrupted the original source. Am i able to embed the now published file into a new storyline 2 file? I have tried to insert as webobject having changed the story.html file to index.html but i can't view this file when it is searched for.
I'd suggest you host your Storyline3 published course on a web server, then try the web object approach. Local playback won't work as expected (browser security rules) and the browser doesn't natively have access to your local file system (again, browser security)
I'm also sorry to hear your file was corrupted! It sounds like you may not have access to Storyline 3 any longer, but if you do, one suggestion is to check your temp folder to see if an earlier version (pre corruption) of your file is stored in there. Here's how to check:
1) Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
2) Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of your project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. If you find more than one, copy the latest version to your desktop.
3) Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story.
