There's a way or two to do that. Here's one of them. This one uses a button, but since everything is on a layer, you can use a hotspot or any other object really.
I didn't see any zoom regions in the demo.... Zoom regions can only be placed on the base layer. I'm trying to control a zoom region on the base layer.
Have a closer look. Click on a shape and you'll see the zoom region trigger. Then press the close button on the caption to zoom out using the same zoom region.
Hi, Amy - So you have it for quick reference, here is the tutorial on Adding Zoom Regions, and I am not aware of one that exists for methods by which to 'end' them. However, when you insert a zoom region, it appears as an object in the timeline, so you can adjust how long it appears. You may be able to adjust it to the length of the media. Hope that helps! :)
Yeah, I would like to have it end on the user doing something. So dragging it on the timeline to match up with something else on the timeline doesn't help. I will probably have to just not zoom at all on the slide and start on the next one.
Yup, there's a link on the bottom right ("Add to bag") which will reveal a shopping bag. Clicking that would take you to the store for sign up (required), and the download will then be available. It's a Storyline 1 file so it's compatible with both SL versions.
Alternatively, click on Store-->Interactions and download either the 4:3 or 16:9 version of the story (as above, free download but sign up required).
I have to play with it some more. I stared at your file for a while but not long enough. I have audio that stops on a button click, which starts different audio, and then on another button click, I want the zoom to end.

Thank you for the update, Amy. :)
Alex, is there a .story file available? I see the zooming but without the .story file, I can't see the mechanics that get the effect to work.
Thanks.
Amy

Thanks! Looking at the download now.
If you're a SL2 user, then this can be done way faster using timeline triggers (pause & resume) - but this should work in both versions.
I am using SL2.
