Engage slides freezing in published Storyline course played through our LMS.

Apr 06, 2017

I have built an eLearning course in Storyline that contains Engage created slides.  I have published the course into our LMS and everything seems to be working fine, but the slides with Engage interactions will freeze sometimes.  They don't always freeze, but it happens quite frequently.  The only remedy is to close the course and relaunch.  It is very important that this issue is resolved ASAP.  This course will be taken by executive leadership.

The course is published in SCORM 1.2 and the Engage parts freeze up in both IE and Chrome browsers with the popup blocker turned off.

Hi there Joshuua!

Thanks so much for sharing your file with me. I published it for LMS with SCORM 1.2 and uploaded it to SCORM Cloud, which is industry standard for LMS testing. Here's a link to your published file if you'd like to test it. You'll noticed I removed some of the Storyline slides to reduce the file size, but even so, it looks like the Engage slides are working well in the latest versions of Chrome and Internet Explorer.

Are you on the latest update of Storyline 360 and Studio 360? We recently released an update that fixed an issue with Engage files embedded into Storyline, so you'll want to be sure you take advantage of that update. You can follow these steps to complete the update process.

Let me know if the test file I linked above is working on your end, and also whether you have already updated Articulate 360. We'll keep investigating if we need to!

Ah, now I'm seeing the freezing as well. It seems to work just fine on desktop browsers, but I'm seeing some inconsistency on an iPad in Safari. I'd like our Support Engineers to take a closer look at this, so I've opened a support case on your behalf (01050990) and shared your file with them. Keep an eye on your inbox from an email from Support@Articulate.com. You'll hear back shortly!
