In one of the projects I've created, am trying to import a PPoint deck. However, each time I try to import (and have tried several different decks), keep getting the same error:
I have versions 2010 and 2013 of PPoint installed on my laptop and wondering if that may be the issue
(Note: Have no problem importing Engage or Quizmaker content)...
Are your Storyline and Powerpoint files all saved locally? There could be some file corruption causing an import error if you had saved them to a network or USB drive.
Here are some tips for managing your files which can help prevent issues.
1. Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior. 2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate). 3. Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
If you're still having difficulty after reviewing those steps and you'd like to share the Powerpoint file with us here, I'm happy to test importing it into Storyline to see if I get the same results, and if you'd prefer to share it privately you can share it here as well.
Thanks for your response. When all else fails, you simply uninstall and re-install...and that seemed to have worked. Am able to import all the decks I wasn't able to earlier (the mystery of technology I guess). Guess we can consider this closed (for now). Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing all the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. Is this happening with one particular Powerpoint or Storyline file? If so, I'd suggest trying it with a new file to see if the same result occurs. If it's the Storyline file giving you trouble, you can always import it into a new Storyline file.

Some other causes of why the Powerpoint file may not import into Storyline are included here.
