I have 4 PDF documents added as Resources in my Articulate Story. They are showing up in the External Files Folder in the zipped Story Content Folder. However, when I go to access them I get the following message.
Hi Claudia! Thanks so much for your question and sorry for your difficulties. You may want to try to make a copy of the PDF files and store them in the same location as the .story file you are working on, then link the resources to that location rather than the original. Then when you publish, the PDF will be included in the course and will work properly.
I've published numerous Storyline Courses with Resources attached, but haven't had this problem before. I tried putting PDF's in the same location as the .story file as per your suggestion, but received the same error message.
I upload these files to an LMS system. I load it then test it, but am obviously experiencing some issues with this one. I would love to send it to you so you can take a look at it. Just not sure exactly where I load it for your review.
Since you mentioned you're using an LMS, you may want to look at testing it in another environment such as SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for LMS testing. You can review the directions here to help you go through that testing.
If you would like to share your file, you can use the Add Attachment button in this thread or share it privately here.
You're welcome to share your .story project file and your published output here by utilizing the Add Attachment feature on the the lower left of the comment box in this thread. If you'd prefer to not share them publicly, you can also share privately with our Support Engineers by way of this form. If you go the latter route, feel free to share your case number here and I'll be sure to follow along! :)

Also be sure you are following these guidelines for how to Create, Edit, and Publish Articulate Storyline Courses on Your Local Hard Drive, but be sure to test your published output in the intended environment.
Please let us know if you still have difficulties and we'll see what more we can do!

Hi CJ
can you see the files in the published output folder?
eg:
Yes, I can see them in both the published output folder as well as the zipped folder.
Where are you accessing the published file from LMS or Webserver or network drive?
I'm not sure I understood your question. I publish and store it on my PC and load it from there. Is that what you mean?
Hi Claudia
i meant where will you store the published files so you're clients (or learners) can access them... but your obviously just testing this locally.
Do you want to upload your published zip here and I'm happy to test for you
Also Try changing the file name when you publish the output to something short e.g test.
then try accessing the story.html from different browsers and see if it still fails.
