Error retrieving course details

Feb 21, 2017

Hi

I have been using Articulate and the same LMS for year but today I have come across an error I have never seen before. When I attempt to import my content I get an error message saying

"There has been an error retrieving the course details from the upload content, therefore this content cannot be uploaded".

One thing that does appear to be occurring, which never has before, is that i get two folder when i publish and zip my content. One folder is the usual zip, the other has the same name with 'storyline output' at the end. This is normal folder not a zip.

  • Has anyone experienced this issue before with their LMS? (especially Kallidus users)
  • Does anyone know why I am producing two files instead of one when publishing and might this effect the ability to import to an LMS

Appreciate this is an odd one but any help would be great.

Thanks

Danny

Hello Danny - Are you zipping the published contents from the dialog window within Storyline or outside of the software? I would advise zipping from the Publish Successful dialog box within the software. Do you have any issue when uploading the zipped contents to SCORM Cloud? This is a great tool to see if the issue lies within the software or your LMS. If you are able to replicate, please share the .story file for us to take a look.

Hmmm, that's interesting Jill.

When working on an Articulate Storyline 2 project in a collaborative environment with other developers, use this workflow to avoid loss of resources, file corruption, and other erratic behavior that can occur due to network latency.

You mention that it's the one project, so perhaps importing into a new file will alleviate issues you are seeing a s well.
