Errors generated from Moodle when trying to launch a Scorm package

Sep 13, 2020

Hi all,

I built a course in Articulate Storyline 360 and packaged it as a Scorm package. Everything went smoothly in SL. However, when I uploaded this course to Moodle (3.3.9+), I got a black page, as the player is trying to start the course but no content appeared. In addition, I got 4 errors (attached). I tried that using Chrome and Firefox and I had the same results. Do you know if these errors are generated from the course package or something wrong with the Moodle copy? Does anybody know how to fix this problem please?

Thank you very much.

Kind Regards,

Roula

Hi Roula!

Have you changed the SCORM package in between publishing from Storyline 360 and uploading it to Moodle?

The error message that you've shared looks like those files are missing. Have you tried publishing the course for LMS again, zipping the published output folder, and then uploading it to Moodle?

Let me know if publishing the course again does the trick. If not, I'd like to take a look at the file. Here's a secure upload link where you can send the file to me, and I'll test it on my end.

Hi Lauren,

Thank you for your answer and sorry to be late in my reply.

I eventually solved the problem few days after I posted it here and the problem was tricky! I sent the course to the Moodle administrator to test it by email. When he unzipped the package he found the extension of all javascript files have turned to be j_ instead of js. After searching the problem, we found that for security reasons, some mail servers  switch all js extensions into j_. When I sent the same package on other medium it worked perfectly.

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Roula
