Exam questions cannot be answered after submitting incomplete answer (html)
May 09, 2016
This latest update is seriously broken, and I am beyond frustrated with it. First the "submit all" issue that was supposedly fixed is actually just broken in a different way. (https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/html5-quiz-issue)
AND now I have discovered that learners who inadvertently submit a question without selecting a response are not able to fill in the question. (html version)
This is happening with all the exams that I re-published since I upgraded. The question bank slides are all set to "automatically decide" on revisit. When a learner clicks submit on a question, they receive the warning "Invalid Answer - You must complete the question before submitting", but on clicking OK to this dialog, the submit button has disappeared from the question, and the Previous/Next are there as if they are reviewing the exam, and they are not able to select (or enter) a response for that question.
I feel like the QA department slept through this upgrade, and I really regret that I installed the upgrade without more thoroughly testing it myself. (but I'm not getting paid to test this software)

Hi Terry,
I'm sorry that both of these issues have impacted you, and our team is currently investigating them based on the thread here connected to the submit all behavior and needed to revisit them and the behavior with the custom submit button in HTML5 trapping a user on the slide if they haven't selected an answer yet prior to clicking the custom submit here.
If you need to talk with our Support Engineers about rolling back to Update 7 in the meantime, please feel free to reach out to them here. This thread is also included in the reports filed with our team so that we'll be able to update you here and in the other threads.

Aw, thanks Terry for sharing - I sent that along to our QA team as they're the ones who deserve all the kudos!
