Hi,
I am still pretty new to all of this but really enjoying the journey but I am stuch on something.
In the course I am building I want the delegate to complete a post module quiz which if they fail first time they can have a second chance BUT if they fail on the second try they must restart the module. I have completed a mock up to see if it works but I feel that I have missed something so if anyone could take a look I would be really grateful, thanks

Hi Nick
I've made a few mods to your story file but I noticed there are only two Result slide variables where there should be four...this could mean a corrupt result slide.
In addition to the two listed below there should be a Results.PassPercent and a Results.ScorePercent which if you look in your triggers for success and fail layer are referenced.
Have a look at the attached file and see if that is getting to what you want and if so I do a video of the changes I made so you can follow along.
I haven't updated your result slide - you may want to do that.
Also some of your quiz slides have a next button and a submit button but not all of them - found it a little distracting.
Here are a couple of tutorials and here that may explain things for you.
Feel free to shout out if you need more help.
Wendy firstly thanks you so much for your help on this I have been struggling with this for a while. So just to be sure what you have done means that they can have 2 attempts and they are regarding then sent back to the start of the module?
When you say updated results slide what is it I need to do?
I will also remove the next button.
Once again many thanks
Nick
Hi Nick
I have it set - if they pass the quiz they finish. If they fail first time, they get a second attempt, they fail second time the retry quiz button is hidden and replaced by Return to content button. Is that what you wanted?
Also, I would place the current result slide into a new scene and add in a new result slide that should produce the required four system variables you need. You will just need to reapply your result slide layout to the new result slide.
Shout out if you need more help.
Hi Wendy just a small question which I seem to be unable to sort out. I took your template and set some questions where the delegate must get 100% correct or retake the quiz and if they fail on the second one they redo the whole module, so far so good. The problem is that if they pass they are still ask to redo the module rather than exit the module! The zip file is attached, I am sure that it is a variable issue but I just can't seem to figure it out. Many thanks
Nick
Sorry looks like my zip did not load so here is the sl file instead
Actually this is easier than I thought, if I just add a caption to the success layer instructing the delegate to Exit the course via the button on the player that shouldsolve the issue. Thanks
Looks like you were able to get this sorted on your own here Nick :) Thanks for popping in with an update.
Hi Wendy,
Just polishing off some slides and I seem to have developed a brand new issue. When the slide layers show they have the wrong audio despite the fact that I have added it to the correct layers.........I am at a loss ast o how to deal with this. Any help is appreciated.
Hey Nick
there was no trigger for the 'try again' layer to display so I added that in with a condition of attempts=1 and also updated the failure layer trigger with condition attempts = 2.
Hope that helps
Many thanks, once again you have saved my day!
No worries Nick - glad you're all sorted.
Hi Wendy,
Here I am again with this issue.Whilst in the graphics it runs well but when it comes to the voice overs something is wrong, if the delegate has a 1st attempt it shows the have "another try" layer but with the vo of fail. I have added the vo to the "another try" layer yet another try seems to be on the fail layer too.I am not sure I am doing this right any help would be so very appreciated. Sample file is attached with correct answers faded so if you try the quiz to get it wrong on the first attempt and then again on the second you will see what I mean.
Nick
Hey Nick
good to hear from you and it was a matter of tweaking the triggers on the results slide slightly to include the number of attempts in the condition of the try again and fail layers. i also added triggers to the Try Again button to reset the results slide and jump to the QB.
Hope this helps - shout out if I've got it wrong :-)
Wendy you are without doubt my Elearning heroine! If you ever come to Worcestershire the beers are on me!
Many thanks
Glad that helped Nick - and you're on!!
