Execute Javascript not working in Flash version of module

Mar 22, 2016

Greetings all,

My team has created html5 based modules using Storyline 2.  So far, we've done pretty well.  We employ a security feature to prevent content theft using JavaScript in a trigger on the first page of the module.  This has worked fine so far.  Then we learned just how incompatible IE is with Storyline.  I thought we'd be fine by just directing IE folks to the Flash version of the module.  Unfortunately, they get stuck on our security page because the Javascript trigger is not executing.  I even removed the contents of the javascript trigger and just replaced it with an alert("I'm here"); on the first line.  Alert never gets triggered.  Is there some known issue in Storyline when trying to use javascript in the flash output?

Thanks for any insight.

Dan

Hi there,

I am experiencing similar problems and wondered how you got on resolving this?

We have a data entry field that executes some javascript to check whether the date the user is entering is a year or more in the past and then showing a custom layer depending on their entry.

This is working fine in Google Chrome as is the HTML5 version, but the flash version in IE is just showing a black screen, does anyone have any advice on how to go about resolving this one?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks
