I have a trigger setup to exit the course once the results screen displays and this works fine from a pc browser, however the window does not exit when viewing the course from an iPad. The results are saved and all, just the course window stays on display.
Has anyone else run into this, or have any workarounds?
Are you referring to viewing it on your iPad in HTML5 or through the Articulate Mobile Player app? I'm not able to replicate the issue in the Mobile App, but I do see that nothing happens in HTML5. I'm not sure what's supposed to happen in HTML5, especially if you're viewing the course in the only open tab in your browser, but I'll take a deeper look into it and let you know...
After some digging, I think it's our intention for the Exit course trigger to close the browser window in HTML5, even on iPad, so I'm going to go ahead and get it logged with our QA team. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, and I'll let you know what I hear back.
How are you viewing the content? In the Articulate Mobile Player, I'm not having any trouble with that trigger. If you are publishing this and viewing it through the Articulate Mobile Player, can you share the link so I can try to take a look on my iPad?
Try viewing this on your iPad. Note: the second slide is the one that's set to exit after it loads, not the first slide with the button.
As Peter mentioned earlier, if you're publishing for HTML5 and viewing through Safari, it may not work.
I have had a similar problem, I use an LMS on the HTML5 version on iPad. I have solved the problem by calling the javascript function in Storyline's own javascript wrapper that doesn't seem to get called by the Exit trigger itself. Therefore, to exit the course I have a trigger set up to execute the following javascript:
lmsAPI.ConcedeControl();
This seems to do the job for me. Another discussion of this issue can be found here:
Once you've finished installing the update, please republish and test your course on the iPad. If the problem continues after installing the update, or if you already have Update 3 installed, please let me know.
Thanks for getting back to me. I am running that version. May I email you a link to a published course (web publish) that I was having issues with? I'd rather than publish that information to the world.
Please DO NOT run this with the Mobile Player. Also, there's a logo that should appear in the upper-left corner of the screen above the menu. Without running in the player, that's an empty box.

Hi Karen,
How do you have the trigger set up for your result slide? Can you share a screenshot or the .story file so I can take a look?
I haven't been able to reproduce this, so I'm curious how you have the trigger set up.
Thanks!
Christine
Hi again, Karen!
After some digging, I think it's our intention for the Exit course trigger to close the browser window in HTML5, even on iPad, so I'm going to go ahead and get it logged with our QA team. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, and I'll let you know what I hear back.
I have the trigger setup to exit the course once I enter the results screen.
This example is when a user just needs to confirm on a confirmaiton screen, they don't need to review the results screen.

Hi Peter,
Any update on this? Though Custom tab (Exit) appears on publishing the course the trigger (Exit course) is not working in iPAD.
Thanks
Mohan

The issue was fixed when I downloaded the latest SP.
I'm also unable to get the Exit trigger to work on my iPad. In addition, the logo in my player doesn't display. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
The exit trigger was resolved after I got the latest SP for Storyline.
Certain file types aren't displaying - I'd try jpg if you're using a png and vice versa...
Hi Michelle!
Can you tell us what version of Storyline you're using, please? To find this information, click on "Help" and "About Articulate Storyline".
If you're not running version 3 (1305.2012), please download and install the update using the link below:
Articulate - Storyline Update 3
Once you've finished installing the update, please republish and test your course on the iPad. If the problem continues after installing the update, or if you already have Update 3 installed, please let me know.
Thanks very much!
Christine
