Exit not working

I realize there have been a few posts about this, but I cannot get the player Exit function to work. This is from the Web output only and opening one of the story files, that is the html using IE10, or the story flash file.

Is this normal? We are still developing our courses and have not given them to our online provider to trial yet, but I was wondering that if these files don't operate properly, then the final online product will probably be the same. I have also tried to set the player to "open in new window" and that does nothing.

HI Mike, are using licence version ? i think its worki in story.html file but not in html5, . i thought this bug got fixed in last update from stroylie but i was wrong.

if you are facing the problem in story.html then you need to add flash global settings in your browser.

Hi Mike,

When you're viewing the published course, is it uploaded to a web server or LMS? If you're viewing the project locally, that may be why the "Exit" button and function isn't working. 

If you view published Storyline content on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:

Thanks to you both, I will have a chance to try your solutions this morning and will get back here with reply.

It is a licensed version, but I noticed that some of the later Articulate tutorial videos shown have different screen layouts than I am looking at, they look to be more up to date. I have assumed that is because they are using beta versions of the product.

For example, the "how to create quizzes with video" tutorial has significantly different menu layouts as to what I have.

My version is 2.1212.1412 - is this the latest update?

If so, that's actually Quizmaker, one of our Studio products. Sorry for any confusion!


Understood on the Quizmaker - explains that.

The problem seems to have occurred due to corruption of the master file. I lodged a support ticket and sent story file and there was corruption there.

Possible cause was due to the location of my files on my drives apparently - so I have relocated the files onto local C drive and imported slides into a new file. This caused me to lose many personalized code, some formatting and so on, 2 days work getting it back to where it was. Importing has limitations as I have found out.

Oh no, so sorry to hear about that. I'm glad you were able to import the files into another one, but I'm sorry to hear you lost some of the work. I know that's never a good thing, hopefully it won't take too long to get everything caught up for you. 

Is the course working properly now? If not, can you share the case number with me, so I can take a look?
