Exit the course issue
Sep 16, 2013
I can't get my course to close. On the last slide,
my Player Trigger is: Exit course, When user clicks the next button.
my Slide Properties are Slide advances By User, When revisiting Automatically decide, with Player features of Player defaults.
When I get to the end of the last slide of the course and click the Next button. Nothing happens. I want the course to close.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi Lloyd,
Are you testing this within the published output or just the preview? You'll want to test the published output within the intended environment, as you may encounter local security restrictions if doing otherwise.
Ashley - I'm using "published" output. I would have assumed that preview wouldn't work, since you preview a scene or a slide and can't go futher.
Always best to check.
Did the troubleshooting steps in the previous article help at all? If you'd like to share your .story file here we're happy to test as well - and if you'd prefer to not post in the forums, you can also send it to our support team.
I reset the Player to open in a new window. Since I published to the Web, I moved everything to a server. It still won't exit.
I have stripped the .story file of everything but the last two slides and attached it for your assistance.
Hi Lloyd,
Thanks for sharing - I tested this and posted it here to my AO account (http://aterwilliger.articulate-online.com/9369972145), and using the next button successfully closed the window (in Chrome and IE). Have you reviewed this article with troubleshooting steps around the exit trigger?
Hmmm....interesting. I did review the article and adjusted a couple of things, but the rest of it didn't seem to apply to my situation. I checked your post and the course closes as it should.
If all you did was to take my two slides, click on Publish, and post the result, then I've got things set up correctly. So, something else within our company network is fouling the close.
Thank you very much for your assistance. I'll see if I can determine what's occuring within my system.
That's exactly what I did - didn't change any settings, so you certainly have things set up correctly. Feel free to share my example with your team so that they can see how it should behave since it's working for you.
