Exit trigger button

Aug 15, 2016

Hello,

1) I upgraded my Storyline to 10:1607.1221.  I am using an Exit trigger button to have the students exit the course.  However, when I publish the course and try to exit using IE, Chrome, or FireFox, I am unable to exit the course.  I have uploaded the course to my LMS and cannot exit the course.

2) Also, in Storyline(Properties), I have selected "Launch player in new window," and when I try to launch in IE, Chrome, or FireFox, I am getting error messages.

I would like to know if the the upgrade has anything to do with the issues above?

Hello,

I have attached a copy of the error message below:

1. In Firefox, the Exit trigger button does not work

2. In Chrome, I get the following message:

[cid:image001.png@01D1F79E.0B44D990]

3. In IE, the Exit trigger button does not work.

4. I have not tested my course in the Scorm Cloud, I think this is another LMS, right? We have Cornerstone and I uploaded the course to our LMS and the Exit trigger button does not work.

I have sent a trouble ticket to our help desk for assistance, but wanted to get Articulate's review.

Hi, LaVerne -- Thanks for reaching out and so sorry to hear of your troubles! First, may I ask if you are finding the same behavior when you test your course via the SCORM Cloud, as well? And would it be possible for you to share a screenshot of the error message your are receiving?

Hi, LaVerne -- Thanks for your reply! First, I wanted to mention in case you weren't aware, when you reply to a forum notification via email, the details in your signature are shared publicly here in the post. To remove that info, please click here to be taken to the discussion itself and then you can use the EDIT button below your reply to remove that info if you wish.

Also when replying via email, any images or attachments you intended to share do not transmit to be visible in the discussion. In order to share the error message screenshot, please use the grey ADD ATTACHMENTS button in the bottom left of the reply box, and you will be able to browse and upload from there.

And SCORM Cloud is an industry-standard testing environment which is a great tool to help determine whether or not the issue lies with the course itself or if it is more so related to how the course is behaving within a specific LMS. Typically, if a course functions properly via SCORM Cloud but not within an LMS, we would recommend that you reach out to the LMS directly for additional insights. Here's a great article on How to Troubleshoot Your LMS with SCORM Cloud
