Experiencing quiz results glitch in LMS

Dec 28, 2012

We have a quiz with 10 questions that is not evaluating correctly when you get to the results slide. If you get them all right it may display 60%, 70%, or 80% correct. However, if you Review Questions or navigate away and back to the quiz, the second time you hit the results slide it evaluates correctly as 100%.

I verified this behavior even when scoring 80% correct. The first time it came up as 70%, but when I returned it correctly evaluated the score as 80%.

Could this be a Storyline bug, an LMS issue, or perhaps a factor of network delay, as this seems to occur over VPN?

Also, there are some 406 errors (data model type mismatch) on a matching drop-down question, #1, so not sure if that may be a factor.

Hi Jonathan,

Is the score changing when the course reports to the LMS, as well? Or just on the review slide itself?

Would you mind testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side? If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

Let us know!

Thanks,

Christine

Hi Christine,

The score is not getting reported to the LMS the first time around. The results slide appears to display the tally up to the point at which the quiz tally is aborted. When the quiz is repeated (Review or simply return to Results slide) the score is calculated and reported correctly.

The quiz works properly in SCORM Cloud as well as LSO Author (the SAP LMS authoring tool). So right now it is looking like an issue with SAP LSO runtime environment or the servers on which it is running.
