Thanks for your feedback. Appreciate your help. Currently i am doing a quality check on a SCORM output (Flash+HTML5). Customer complained that the sound level was inconsistent. Is there any scientific approach or industry standard for me to find out which part of the sound is too high or too low in the entire SCORM. Ideally, i wish to see the wave pattern of Flash and HTML respectively, and use wave pattern to identify the issues.

FYI, our VO talent did one full voice-over work with consistent tone and quality. We then have AE and Flash production teams to produce MP4 videos. These videos were then embed into Articulate Storyline. These caused the inconsistency in sound volume. We know we must fix issue during production stage. But, for me as QC officer, i am just tasked to identify issue. Hope expert can advise me on QC side.

Hi,

I run all of my audio files through a program called Auphonic Leveler set at -16LUFS (Podcasts and Mobile) prior to inserting them into SL or other programs. This type of volume leveling software is used by the broadcasting industry to maintain consistent volumes. Do a Google search for other similar products.

Using a volume leveler enables me to have consistent volumes, not only across SL slides, but also across different modules and courses, and other uses such as podcasts.

Hope this helps.

Russ
