Export text entry responses to a document so learner can print

Oct 29, 2013

Hello,

I have created a 'scenario' involving a 'coach' who asks the learner a series of 12 questions. The learner types his/her answers in text entry boxes, and the final screen shows all the questions and the learner's answers in a scrolling panel. My client wants the learner to be able to print out all the questions and answers. Is there a way to do this?

For example, is it possible to export the questions and answers to a document that the learner can access via the Resources tab?

Hi Danielle,

I'm not sure what Chris has ended up doing, but you can enable the "print results" feature on the results slide. This will generate an HTML page where the user will be able to see the questions and their responses, and could either print it out or save the page. You'll need to edit the results page and visit the options:

Hi team, I have the same question now in 2020... Cannot find this option in Storyline360, can you help please?

Actually, I want to ask learners to respond to some questions in a module (open questions and no score there, just like "coaching"). Then I want them to be able to export the page (including explanations and their answers) so that they can save the file or print it for further use.

I would need to enter several fields in the same slide, in which learners will type text:

Topic 1 : explanation

below the text entry field where the learner types

Topic 2: explanation

below the text entry field

Etc

Then ideally with a print button to export in html (then the learner can save as or print). But should I create a result page and have this print button there?

Thank you!

Hi Marie and welcome to E-Learning Heroes 😊

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are working on.

You may be able to get this working with a simple JavaScript code to print the current window that the learner is in.

I've created a simple sample file for you to take a look and I look forward to other ideas from users in the community.
