I have a 20-minute .wmv file that I trimmed into segments and placed throughout a course. I need to create a PPT from this course for the team that is using it, but I cannot figure out how to bring over the trimmed videos into PPT. Is there a way to export or save each trimmed segment?
Unfortunately, there is no way to export a single video from Storyline. However, there may be a few options for you. Are you using PowerPoint by itself, or do you have access to Articulate Presenter? If you don't have Presenter, you may want to consider taking advantage of the free trial.
One option would be to insert the Storyline course into Presenter/PowerPoint as a web object. You could create a course in Storyline that contains only the slide or slides with your .WMV video and insert it into the presentation. Take a look at this knowledge base article for more information on this method.
Another option would be to use Presenter and create a screen recording of the WMV video for the presentation.
Alternatively, you could use another third party recording software and do something similar to the last suggestion. Create a recording of the video and insert it as a video into PowerPoint.
I hope these suggestions are helpful Let me know how it turns out!
Yes, there is. In the edit video screen, you can right click on the video and select to export the movie. With the segments, you could try making a copy of your storyline file, renaming the extension to .zip and then extracting the contents. The video or videos may be in folder called media.
Hi. I am trying to export a video I trimmed to save as a .wmv in Storyline 2, as mentioned above (the post link above is no longer valid). Is this currently possible?
Looks like the link went to another website, so I will not be able to help you out with that. I do know that Jerson is still active in the forums, so perhaps you can reach out to the user directly via the 'Contact Me' option on the user profile if you do not hear back soon.
Hey Jeannine, was the video imported into Storyline 2 or was it a screen recording? If it was originally imported, follow these steps.
Make a copy of the Storyline 2 file
Rename the file extension to .zip
Unzip the file
Look for a media folder in the extracted file. You should find the movie file in there. It will be named something different, but just filter by file type and it will make it easier to find.

I see this answer is 2 years old. Is there a way to export a single video from Storyline yet?

Here is post on how to do it.
Thanks for sharing Jerson.

Jerson. You're a lifesaver. Thank you!
Hi Jerson! Thanks so much! I was just now able to try this!
Can you split one long mp4 video into segments then save each segment individually?
Hello Felice and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
You'd want to use another video editor to split your export up if needed.

Hi Nicole,
