extracting the screenshots

Apr 01, 2013

I am relatively new to storyline and thank you in advance for your help. My organization, an non-profit, is translating a free online course to Spanish. It requires to redo all the screen shots in the new language. As there are hundreds if not thousands of screen shots (most of them named png file) embedded in the current course, I wonder if there is a fast way to extract these screenshots (or to find how the png files are saved) and send them for translation.  Thank you very much!

Welcome to the community, Hui!

I'm not sure if this would work for you, but one option may be to save the images from within the course as new image files. So, say you have an image in a slide that you'd like to modify outside of Storyline. Right-click on that image and select "Save as picture". You should be able to save that image as a new .PNG. Whether or not you'll be able to modify the contents of that image, however, I'm not entirely sure. This would depend on the original image and the software you'd need to use to translate it.

I hope this helps!

Dear christine,
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my message. I was looking for a feature to extract (or export) all the screen shots in English in batch and send to translation team to do screen shots in another Language. Articulate Storyline support team informed me that they don't have this feature at this time, and I sent a feature request today.
Thanks again and best!
Hui
