Fade out animation on layer

May 16, 2019

Hi

I'm building a slide just now with 6 layers.  Once the user has read the detail on each of the layers, I will allow them to click on an 'exit' box to leave that layer and return to the main page to view the next layer.  I want the layer to fade out when they click the exit box and I can't think of how to make this happen - probably something very simple!

Could anyone help please?  Thanks!

You could probably take a screenshot of the base, paste it onto a second layer. The second layer has a fade transition, is set not to hide other layers, with a timeline the length of the transition you want, and set to hide when its timeline ends.

Learner clicks exit box, second layer transitions in over first layer, looking exactly like base, hides first layer when timeline ends, and hides itself when timeline ends.

Laura,

Here's one way that works. On each layer, set a trigger to pause the timeline of the layer when it starts. Add a fade exit animation to all of the objects on the layer. Set a trigger to resume the timeline when the user clicks the exit box, and then be sure that your timeline is just long enough for the fades to complete by the end of the timeline. One last trigger for each layer will hide the layer when the timeline ends. Finally, be sure that the layers are set to reset to initial state.

Sadly not that simple, but maybe someone else has a simpler solution.
