Feedback Correct - Crashes

Jan 18, 2016

Hi Everyone,

I have an issue about storyline version 2. The multiple choice question has been presented an error after the user has passed the feedback.

If the user markes the incorrect answer he can go forward to the next layers and also come back to the question and go forward how many times he wishes.

However when the user markes the correct answer he can go forward after the feedback to the next layers but when he comes back to the question he can't go forward again.

You have a video attached that can help explain better what is occurring. http://unirdc.com.br/img_msg/error.mp4

Could you help me to solve this properties settings, please?

Thank you,

Hi, Christie.

Thanks for your assistence!!! I'm appreciated :D

Yes, I have tested. I closed the package in LMS, inserted in the Moodle platform and opened the file on my computer as well. Through Storyline and as the closed file, Both show the same behaviors.

I'm sending the .ZIP file "Storyline Fase 5" with the error, as requested. I'm sending too the "Storyline Fase 3" with the Storyline archive and the closed file for LMS, these two are working, but if I save the file again, it gets the same error that happens in "Fase 5". Do you need more information?

Thanks a lot.

Hi, Fabiola -- Thanks so much for your reply and the additional details provided! If possible, could you please share the .story (or source) file here so that we are able to take a closer look and do some testing for you? All you need to do is click on the ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left of the reply box, and browse for your file, then upload. :)

Hi, Fabiola -- Thanks again for your patience while testing your file. If you click here for my SCORM Cloud output, when using the answer key you provided, I do not believe I experienced the issue you described. When I attempted to progress after revisiting questions that had been answer correctly on the first try, I did not experience an issue moving forward.

Please test from the link I shared, and let me know if you continue to have issues. If so, I will gladly submit a ticket to our Support Engineers for additional investigation. :)

Hi Christie,

Yes, I still have the same issues.  :(

When you revisited the "Praticando" (practicing), it was the "voltar"(back) button ?
The error appears when I press and then come back and try to continue again.

Does this issue have anything to do with Flash Player? I had the same problem than she:

And I used this procedure for Windows 7:

Do you need record my screen again when I'm testing?

Thanks a lot

Christie Pollick

Hi, Fabiola -- Yes, I would recommend that you record your screen once more, if possible! I'd appreciate that, as I can no longer access your video from the link shared in your initial post (I keep getting a 404 error). I'll take another look, but if I am still unable to determine the root of the issue you are seeing, I think it would be best to get a fresh perspective from our Support Engineers and I will go ahead and submit a ticket for you thereafter. :)

Hi Christie,

I took the video and put it in another way, sorry.

Follow the link to the first video and the second video

First: http://unirdc.com.br/storyline/error.mp4

Second:http://unirdc.com.br/storyline/error_mozilla_chrome_iexplorer.mp4

I used browsers: Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla. Each appears in a different way.

Thanks a lot for your patience and timely response

Hi, Fabiola -- Thanks so much for the additional videos to illustrate the behavior you have described and as I now have a clearer understanding, I wanted to note that I am experiencing the same issue when I test your content in the SCORM Cloud. As your properties appear to be set correctly in SL2 itself, I have gone ahead and submitted your case for further exploration. You will be receiving contact via an email from Support shortly. I plan to follow along closely with their progress and will share updates here in the thread for others who may benefit.

UPDATE on Fabiola's case as of 1/22/16 from our Support Engineer, Cleo, for anyone who may be following along here.

(Please note the sample file created has been shared here, as Fabiola had provided her file earlier in the thread, and confidentiality was not a concern):

"Thanks for contacting Articulate Support!

When you submit an answer, whether correct or incorrect, the answers are locked-in and will not be editable even if you reload the question slide using a jump to slide trigger in your "Voltair" button. If you go back or reload the question slide 1.7, it will set it into "Review" mode, thus displaying the Prev and Next buttons on the player. Note that by design, when you add a question slide, only the Submit button is enabled, thus when you go back to the question slide, it automatically shifts to Review mode, hiding the Submit button and then displaying the "Prev" and "Next" buttons automatically.

Now in your case, since you are using custom buttons, you will find the Prev/Next button appearing in the Player which you may find unusual, however, this is normal and you cannot prevent it from happening because it's switching to review mode, since the answer was already submitted. Also, normally the Submit button is automatically hidden during review mode to prevent the user from clicking it again, however, in your design since you assigned the submit interaction trigger on the "Prosseguir" button in your base layer, the users are able to click it. Causing an erratic behavior, of displaying the Incorreto layer.

Here's my sample project that I have created from scratch showing the same behavior as described above: http://articulate.fyi/1ODii36. I hope these information helps."
