Feedback in quiz only flashes for a second

Jun 25, 2021

Hi everybody,

the quiz I created gives feedback on every question. The design of the questions is customized. Now the feedback flashes up for a second an then the next slides start automaticly.

What did I wrong? Thanks for help.

Hi, Oswald.

Thank you for sharing your .story file!

You have the following triggers on your question slides:

Windows 10 (1) 2021-06-25 at 2.32.43 PM

When the user clicks the button Next slide 1, Storyline will submit the interaction (which triggers the feedback) AND move to the next slide at the same time.

Ideally, the jump to the next slide will only occur when the user clicks Continue in one of the feedback layers. Since you already have that set up on your Feedback master, it's a simple fix: just delete the Jump to slide trigger from all your slides, and the project should work as expected.

Let me know if this helps!

Hi Maria,

works perfectly. Thank you. But now I don’t get any scores even if the answer of the quiz questions is right. Is this, because I changed Feedback from “none” to “by question”. Is there a toutorial for feedback master and result slides?

Thank you for your support in advance.

Hi, Oswald. I'm glad that worked!

I took another look at your file, and I noticed you have the variables Results2.ScorePercent and Results2.PassPercent showing on your Results slide, but if you look at the Built-in variables, you will see those variables don't exist. Instead, you want to use Results.ScorePercent and Results.PassPercent.

I also want to mention that slides 1.4 and 1.5 don't have feedback layers. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but since they're different than the other ones, I wanted to make you aware of it.

I am attaching the edited .story file so you can take a look at the Results slide.

Lastly, I just wanted to add a quick note: it looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove it by clicking ‘Edit’ below your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
