Can you be a little more specific or perhaps upload one or two slides? It sounds like you're using a Step-by-step Try Mode option?
If so, SL captures the clicks you've made during the recording. Typically, that's where Learners will need to click. A HotSpot is automatically placed on this spot in the Storyline file.
There's usually a Try Again and a Hint Caption layer on each slide.
By default, the Hint Caption appears when users hover over the correct answer, and a Try Again layer is triggered if they click on the wrong spot. But all of this can be changed. For example, you could remove that "hover" trigger and instead add a trigger to show the Hint Caption layer when the user clicks outside the hotspot.
In addition to what Becky shared, I wanted to point you in the direction of the tutorials on how to insert screen recordings and the different options that are available to you.
Hope that helps, and feel free to let us know if you need anything else!

So, just some thoughts to get you started.
