Feedback survey at end of a course

Dec 19, 2012

I have created a course in Storyline, which is reporting to an LMS.

Is there anyway of adding on a short feedback survey to the end of the course and have the LMS analyise the results?

Also, will any comments left by the learner be submitted as well?

Thanks in advance

Hey Warren, welcome to Heroes!

Does your course already contain one or more quizzes that you're tracking? Or is the feedback survey the only quiz you'll be inserting?

Adding a survey is really easy in Storyline. And you'll want to learn about result slides so that your LMS can track the survey. And here's the data that Storyline will send to your LMS, but it's up to your LMS to interpret that for you.

If you have more than one quiz in your course already, you'll need to get creative, as Storyline allows you to track a course by the number of slides viewed or by one specific quiz (result slide). However, you may be able to track more than one SCO in a course, using any of the unsupported methods described here

Hi Peter,

I am interested in doing the same thing.  But the part I am missing is, how do I get the quiz results from all the users who answer the survey from a LMS hosted on Moodle.  Also, the link you have about seeing the data does not work.    Can you provide a link for me to see some examples of  the data from Storyline?    I will only have one "survey" in my course.

Thanks

Alice

Hi there Alice!

I just tested Pete's link and it seems to be working on my end. In any case, the data that's sent is listed below:

The following information gets communicated to an LMS by Articulate Storyline via SCORM and AICC:

  • id: This is the number of the question in the quiz. It'll be in the format Question#_#. The first '#' is the question number. The second '#' is the number of the user's attempt. For example, Question5_2 would designate the user's second attempt on the fifth question.
  • type: This is the type of question (True/False, Multiple Choice, Multiple Response, etc).
  • student_response: This is how the user answered the question.
  • correct_response: This is the correct answer for the question.
  • result: This designates whether the user answered the question correctly or not.
  • weighting: Articulate content does not currently utilize this item. It'll always be set to 1.
  • latency: This is how long it took the user to answer the question.
  • objective: Articulate content does not currently utilize this item. It'll always be set to 0.

SCORM 2004 content also communicates the question text to an LMS.
