I've been testing converting some files from Storyline 2 to Storyline 360. I have found that some text colours are not displaying correctly on some layers in the Storyline 360 file, e.g. the blue is a different blue. The text is the correct colour in other parts of the file. Is this a bug?
Hi Elissa - thanks for reaching out! That's strange, I've not heard of an issue like this before. Are you noticing a difference in text color in Edit/Preview mode, or after publishing?
Would you mind sharing your Storyline 2 file here so I can test upgrading it to SL360 on my end? You can use the Add Attachment button at the bottom of the reply window.
I have noticed the different in colour in edit and preview and also after publishing.
I have created a simplified sample file to show you this issue. It's the title on Layer 4 that displays the issue. The same blue colour (that's part of the theme) is also used in other places in the project.
Note: The file I'm sending is the original SL2 file.
I checked the colour codes, they don't match. The original colour for the title (and the colour on the base layer after conversation) is #009DD9, however the title on Layer 4 that changed colour is now #4F81BD.
FYI- I have noticed the same issue in another file that I tested. The same text colour appeared incorrectly on layers when converted from SL2 to SL360, but appeared correctly in other places in the project.
in my experience when converting files from SL1 to SL2 a similar issue happened with layers but it was font type not colour. The fonts on the base layer were fine but on the layers all reverted to Articulate font.
I vaguely remember logging a support case but don't think there was ever a resolution. We just added to our QA checklist to check all fonts on layers when we reviewed the module.
Not sure how you have applied the theme but wonder if you could export the theme with the correct colours from SL2 and import into SL360 and apply it - I know it's not ideal but it might help you.
Currently I am trialing 360 to assess the value for my team to upgrade. This bug may be a hurdle for us, as we don't want to have to go through every layer on every slide in every project to check the colours are correct! I would like to know if this is a bug that will be looked into for resolution, or not.
Hi Elissa - I apologize for the delay. Do you experience this issue with any other project? I can see this issue in your file and if I import into a new file, but reproducing has not worked as well. I'm curious now if it's just something with your particular file or if it is a bigger issue. If you can reproduce, let's get you over into a support case here so we can get it reported.
This could because Storyline 360 no longer has dirrenet design setting for layers vs slides, the design colours chosen for the slide are now the same as the layers.
If you had a different colour scheme for your feedback it may explain this, if not it must be a bug
I took a peek at your case this morning Elissa and looks like Ryan was able to replicate and the information has been shared with our QA Team to look into further.
Hello Ivona - I do not have an update to share at this time. Is this an issue that has affected you as well? We are trying to better track impact. This thread is attached so that we can update when applicable.
Thank you for your reply, Leslie. Yes, it happens with almost every SL2 module that I open in SL360 - all main slides are ok, but fonts and font colours on layers often change.

Hi Elissa
could it be due to the size of the font.
I increased the title on layer four from 20 to 28 to match the STEP 3 text and it looks the same to me - unless I'm looking at the wrong items.
I am not getting the same colour results as you. Here is what I see for SL2 vs SL360:
If we are getting results on different PCs, is there something else that could be causing this issue?
Just a thought have you checked the html colour code on 360 #009DD9. Happy to take a look at your 360 file if you want to upload it.

I have attached the file converted to SL360.

The correct theme is already applied in SL360. I tried applying it again, but nothing changed.
The colour that the title in the layer changed to isn't even in the theme -

Hi Elissa!
I'm seeing the color change in your file as well.
I'm still digging and will see if this has been reported and if not, will do so. I'll pop back in with an update.

Thanks. I have replicated the issue in at least one other file, so I've submitted a case, referencing this thread. Case #00979982

Thanks for sharing your case number Elissa - looks like Ryan is taking a look. I will follow along as well.

Are there any updates you can share regarding this case?

Hey all,
Great news - Articulate 360 Update 5 is now available! It includes a number of fixes detailed in the release notes here.
The item you may be interested in is how it fixed the issue where text colors could change when upgrading a Storyline 2 project to Storyline 360.
