Storyline has a Replace Fonts feature, but it sounds like you're looking for a feature that will help you find slides that use a particular font. That's a neat idea, and I'd invite you to share your thoughts with our product team here!
Thanks for letting us know how we can make things better. 🙂
Sam, there is a way to do this, but it involves "un-zipping" the Storyline project file, and then searching the entire folder for the text "FontFamily", opening each .xml file for each slide, and then searching for that same text within each file, to see which fonts are used on that slide. If you want to do this only once, I can probably do it for you. I've only tried this on Storyline 3 projects files so far.
I may have to go that route... and by the way, a few years back, I found that there was a way to configure Windows to index the contents of specific file suffixes, like xml.
It made possible searching all files that contained a specific phrase using Windows explorer.
Has anything come of this? I am using Storyline 360 and have the same issue. I have selected all my text on my slides and can not find the fonts it says are in use.
Thought I would check in some time later and see if there is an update. I grabbed a slide template from someone else's course, i recreated the slide I put it in so I could follow along. Then I deleted their slide, and just had mine. When I logged into (only laptop I have used) it said the Boing font is not installed on my machine. But I am sure it is not on any of my slides. Is there a way now in Storyline 360 to search to see where this font is hiding?

HI Alyssa,
Replacing fonts globally is great. But font replacement "usually" changes the size and must be resized to avoid unwanted wrapping for example.

Yes, I had to look that up earlier for Windows 7, to test searching those files.
Hi Sam,
Also trying to replace one or two fonts but not all fonts and figure out which slides they are on.
i think I might have to do it the old fashion way slide by slide to be sure the text fits properly in the space allotted to it.

Hi Janice,
I do not have any additional information to share regarding a feature to identify where a font is used in a course.
If you have a good use-case, I'd encourage you to share your idea with our team here.
I wanted to share some information about how we manage these feature requests as that may be helpful.
I've worked around this using the Import/Export translation feature. Once you've exported to Word, you can search for and replace fonts.
Can you clarify how you are using? I understand office automatically substitutes fonts it doesn't have so how does one find in file?
Thanks,

Hi Teresa,
No update on the feature to simply find where fonts are being used in your project, but we do have the replace fonts feature:
