First time user - question

Due to other job duties, I don't have a lot of time for creating online learning but want to learn more. I have recently gotten Storyline 2 and I'm trying to learn to use it. Working on the first test project. My starting scene is labeled 1.1 Drag and Drop. Apparently it is a drag and drop. I don't want this and have created 6 buttons which take you to 6 other scenes. Is it important to remove the drag and drop and how do I? When I preview, it occasionally ends up on a test question and I haven't created any. Thanks for any help!!

Hi Brent - This should be a simple fix. Right click on the offending slide (1.1) either in the Story View (that's the one that looks like a flow chart), OR in the Scenes viewer on the left side of your screen. From the right-click menu, select Layout and select the layout you would like the slide to have. I've attached a screenshot of using the Scenes viewer. FYI, using the Story View is essentially the same but the slides will show in the middle portion of the screen instead of the side.
I hope that helps! Welcome to Storyline and E-Learning Heroes!
Hi Brent,
It sounds like you might have added a drag and drop in as one of your initial slides and are now seeing the scene named after that. You mentioned sometimes in preview it's showing you a quiz slide - and that's a bit confusing if you haven't created any. If you're still running into difficulty after taking a look at Sherrill's information can you share a copy of the .story file here with us? You can upload it by using the "add attachment" button at the bottom of the reply window on this forum discussion page.
Thanks Sherrill for the response - it still shows 1.1 as Drag and Drop after following your instructions. See below. Practically, this may be ok. I don't know enough yet to know if it will affect the final outcome. Brent

Hi Brent!
The image you are attaching did not come through. I assume you may have responded via e-mail is why. Could you pop into the forums to re-attach so that we can better understand?
I'm sorry what I suggested didn't do the trick. You definitely want to
remove the drag and drop functionality- it could cause problems when you
publish your course. I'll take another look and see if I can make any other
suggestions.
Here it is. It is an image of the scene. I have since gone in and changed the name of 1.1 to Introduction but I assume it is still a drag and drop. Not sure how I did this.
Would you be able to attach your .story file for us to take a look Brent?
is this format ok?
Perfect Brent. It's exactly what I was looking for.
Looks like perhaps the Freeform option was selected and that turned it into a question.
Here's how you can correct this:
Go to Slide 1.1 > Insert Tab > Remove Freeform
Now you should be back to a regular slide that is performing as expected.
Thank you!!!
No problem Brent. Glad I was able to assist.
Welcome to E-Learning Heroes btw ;)
