Flash install required when I run Storyline

May 10, 2012

I currently have the latest Flash Player 11+ running on my machines.

My default browser is Firefox.

Whenever I run Storyline, I am asked to update to Flash 10 as this is required by Internet Explorer to run Storyline?

When I "go with it", it brings me to the Flash update page which tells me I have Flash 11 installed. I reinstall and then Storyline executes.

If I turn off the computer and on again, it then asks again.

Any suggestions on why this is happening?

Hi Inka,

I'm happy to hear you're back in working order - we've heard a few users who were still receiving the Flash error message after updating Storyline to the latest release update in which it was fixed. In those scenarios they've been able to conduct a repair of Storyline as detailed here and that brought them back to working order.

Hi we are encountering this problem today ( Feb.02.2015)

I am using Windows 7. and neither flash player 11 nor 16 works.  Our projects are as of now on hold and I am hopping someone can provide us a step by step solution that does not involve reformatting the entire computer.

I can preview content in storyline and publish them to my desktop. But when I view the published files, they are all blank (SWF and HTML).

Any ideas???

Thank you

Hi Ahssan,

This thread deals with users who were unable to open any Articulate product as they had Flash Player 16 installed which prevented them from opening - but it did not impact the published output. Which version of Storyline are you using? Also you'll want to test the published content within the intended environment as described here testing it locally could cause elements of the content to fail. Also, you'll want to ensure you're using a support browser as detailed here.

Thanks Ashley for clarifying that.,

I am using Storyline 1.  Firefox , Chrome and IE have been working find for me, right until this week

I installed yesterday first and update package:

and it did not difference.

This morning I still had the same problem and then I someone suggesting on one of the posts to try viewing it with another browser ( so anything but my default browser) and it worked.

If that helps anyone.

Hi

I see that the issue is known and not new, but the only solution I see above is to get the latest Storyline update. I have a recent (since the date of the latest) installation, but the problem persists for me. I cannot open Storyline, and am getting frustrated. Due to security policies, I cannot download Flash every time I want to work in Storyline.
