Flashing Hidden Slides when Skip Logic Applied During Retry Quiz

Hi, Marisa -- Thanks so much for your question! May I ask if you are also finding this behavior when you test your course in the environment where it will ultimately be accessed? 

I have only tested it in the preview mode in Storyline thus far.

i think this is a limitation because you can't set the timeline to 0 secs so you see that flash - I find it annoying as well and as yet haven't found a work around

So there is not a way to fix this issue??

Not that I have found - hopefully someone in the community has a workaround - I'm following along to find out.

Something I haven't tried is having a blank layer with the shortest possible timeline and when the bypass trigger fires have it show the layer instead of the base slide...not sure if that would work

I've mocked up a story file and added a blank layer to each of the quiz slides - this seems to avoid the flashing hidden questions.

Hope it helps or gives you an idea for your project.

Thank you for the example, Wendy. However, I didn't use the Question Bank feature. Does this make a difference?

shouldn't make a difference I added the blank layer to each quiz slide - give it a try with a sample selection.

here is a quiz (not a QB) with the blank layers - seems to work for me.

I was able to limit the flashing a bit delaying the content's visibility using animations.

In 360 the function to only retake wrong questions was added so this workaround is no longer needed, however skipping over slides hidden for other reasons does still result in clipping

Hi, thanks for the response. I am using the 'Reset only incorrect questions' trigger and getting the flashing hidden layer. Is that the same thing?

I'm curious to hear more about what you're seeing. When the learner clicks the "Retry" button, what happens? Do they see correctly answered questions "flash" quickly before landing on incorrectly answered questions?

Hi, I will use the link you provided to upload the quiz file.

When the learner clicks on 'retry quiz', it takes them back to the questions they got wrong but they also see a flash of another question (I think it's question 1). Just for a second before they're taken to their first incorrectly answered question.
