Font looks different after publishing Storyline 1 as HTML output

Aug 04, 2015

Hi All,

I create my Storyline 1 (SL 1) using a template that specifies the body text should be Arial 12 pt.  When I check the properties it appears as Arial 12pt and looks fine.  However when I publish it as HTML output it appears different to my reviewer.  My reviewer is reviewing the output/published HTML.

When a different person publishes my SL1 file as HTML everything looks fine.  What is happening here?  I updated my flash player and my SL1 has the latest updates.

How could one person's published files look different han another person's published files?  We are all using the same publishing setting.

Could it be a graphics card issue?  Any ideas?

Thank you,

Ray Schneider

Hi, William, and Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue, but there are some general troubleshooting steps we can try initially. Please make sure you are working locally as described here, and you may want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline.

In addition, you may want to check out this information on publishing and sharing your content, and testing in the intended environment. Also, elements may look blurry in HTML5 content when compared to the crispness of the Flash version of the same course. This can occur if you've chosen to scale the player to fill the browser window.

This issue stems from how web browsers currently handle text that dynamically scales in HTML5 content. To prevent the loss of quality due to scaling, lock the player at optimal size rather than allowing it to fill the browser.

Please let me know if that helps, and if issues persist, you are welcome to share your .story file here and we can take a closer look for you. Please use the ADD ATTACHMENT button in the bottom left corner of the reply box in the thread, and you can browse for the file from there. Please also note that if you reply via email, your attachment will not appear here in the thread. Thanks! :)
