Fonts not Embedding on publish

Jul 31, 2014

Hi,

I have tried looking in the forums and I am at a total loss.

I have a short story file with 8 slides. I use 2 fonts. Gotham Medium and Gotham light. Both are OTF. Both are viewable and set up at theme fonts and render properly in working and preview modes.

Upon publishing ONLY gotham Medium publishes correctly. The secondary ligth font repeatedly gets switch out for another generic font.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the fonts several times. I am aware that OTF if a problem on window but if one font embeds fine I can't tell what the deal with the other is..

I have also tried using a few other fonts as the secondary theme font and I get the same issue. I didn't experience this before I updated my version of Storyline. At least in my past projects it was not an issue.

I would love to get any insight into this issue as it is a VERY pressing matter for me and I need to deliver the files to the client in a couple of days.

Hi Lindsay,

If you're able to select the different weighted fonts within Storyline and apply them, I'd expect them to also work within the published output. You mentioned this only started happening after the recent update (I assume update 6)? It may be that something occurred during your installation and you'll want to look at repairing your Storyline software as described here.

Please let us know how things are behaving after the repair, and if it's still behaving oddly we'll want to take a look at one of your .story files and the font. I don't have Gotham installed on my system so if you're able to share it with me or let me know where I can access both versions of the font that would be great.
