"Format Painter" is not working with states in Storyline 2

In Storyline 1, I used the "Format Painter" to copy and paste states to another object on the slide. However, this is not working in Storyline 2, which can't be right. Is there another way to apply the same states to different objects in Storyline 2 then?

It does and it doesn't work... LOL. I published a rough demo of 2 videos: First it didn't work... then I wanted to shorten the video so I did it again and worked... to my surprise!? I'm on a trial version so I won't know how this ends but I hope this helps. I sure would like to know if it was something I did or didn't do and how I can rectify. Thanks.

Thanks for chiming in and sharing what you are experiencing. The videos were helpful and I'm able to create both examples, so let's walk through what you are seeing.
In this example, the format painter did not apply the states from Button 1 to the subsequent buttons as expected:
In this example, notice that I placed the cursor on the outside of the object, to be sure that the button was selected, and the format painter works as expected:
