The free trial is the exact same program as the paid for version. The only difference is that one day you will no longer be able to open the free trial.
That said, can you define a little more clearly what sort of not working it is doing? How do you use it and what is the result? It is a strange bird, and doesn't always copy everything that some of us think it should, or else copies things you don't want copied.
I tried to copy formatting exactly as it is described in this tutorial. I click on the yellow button I want to copy formatting from, then I click Format Painter in Home tab. My cursor changes and shows paint brush. But what I click on the object I want to apply formatting to, nothing is happening.
I had the same issue when I was completing this tutorial.
As this feature seems to be very helpful and time-saving, I really want to know what to do to use it properly.
Ok, so I found the issue. When I was clicking on the object, I wasn't selecting the whole object but the text, so the format painter was coping only text formatting. You have to be super careful to select the whole object. So you need to click on the edge on the object, when four arrows pointer is displayed, not on the center of the object.

Hi Aleksandra! Thanks for coming back around to let us know how you solved it. Great tip on clicking the edge and not the center of the object!
I was tearing my hair out! Thank you for the question.....and your response to the issue!!!! I was doing the same thing!
Thank you SO much!!! I was super frustrated, and once I found your post, my world was back on track. Great job.
Oh my goodness! This has been SUCH a lifesaver. I am so glad I thought to check here. I was assuming it just didn't work in the trial version too.
So glad that this conversation was able to help you out as well, Donnalee. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
