Formate Painter for States
Apr 18, 2018
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get some information about using the formate painter to apply states. All of the existing threads are at least a couple of years old and seem to end hanging by a thread.
I have an object with 5 states. I wish for another 8 objects to have the same states/behaviour. I could duplicate the first object but I already have triggers setup with the existing objects so it seems like a lot of work. When applying the "format painter" only the colour is added. But then, weirdly, I noticed that if I change the outline colour of the normal state object the change is applied to all the states but the fill colour is not.
Going off my own experience and the previous threads it seems the "format painter" might be better suited to surrealism.
Any ideas? Should I try to overcome its idiosyncrasies or am I better off starting from scratch when working with states?

Hi Amanda,
The format painter should copy the states and formatting from one shape to another, like this.
Can you help me a bit more with what you're looking to do? If you can share a screen recording, that would be helpful!
Hi Both, I think it's just a small bug and I'll have to work around it. I was doing exactly the same procedure as in the video with entirely different outcomes.
Thanks, Matthew and Amanda. That's helpful insight--I'll keep playing with it to see if I can replicate the issue. If you're able to catch the issue on a screen recording, please send it my way!
