Formatting a picture with exact shape

Aug 07, 2017

Hey everybody,

i have a little problem with one of my ideas. I have picture number one a chessboard which is in the background. And on that chessboard I want to have picture number 2 a pawn. My goal is to have the pawn with its exact shape so that it doesn't have any white spaces anymore. That is because I want to put the pawn on the cheesboard and then have it moving on the board (that is why I can't simply change the background color of the pawn).

Can anybody give me some advice? I'm slowly getting frustrated because I can't seem to find a solution :(

Thank you very much!

If I understand you correctly all you need is an image of the pawn in PNG format with a transparent background; this won't work with a JPG. If you don't already have an image with a transparent background you may need to use a graphic editing program to remove it cleanly. You may be able to do this in PowerPoint depending on your image. Once you've removed the background it should overlay the chessboard nicely without any white.
