Formatting captions in a step-by-step video.

May 30, 2019

Hi all I commented on an old post last week and figure it might be too old for a response, so here goes.

Is there a way to change the font size and to remove the shadowing on the text in the captions on a step-by-step video. I would also like to change the text from being centred to left aligned and I would also like to change the left and right indent on the text/caption box for 10px to 5px. Is there a quick and easy solution to this, rather than having to go through each individual caption and using the format painter?  Can it be set up in the background or via Master slides? Hope someone can help as I have a dozen or so step-by-steps to create.

Cheers

Hi Pip - It's not currently possible to set default shape for screen recordings.

The quickest way to update the default screen recording captions would be to

  1. customize one caption with the fonts, colors, and margin settings you want
  2. double-click the Format Painter
  3. click each caption in your scene to apply the new settings

Hope that helps.

Thanks David. That certainly makes sense and that's what I have been doing. I was hoping there was a way you could change the default as I have a large number of step-by-step videos to make, so it would be great to be able to set it up in a template or other way. If it isn't possible I will continue with what I'm doing. Thanks for your reply.

PS - When are you and Tom coming back to Australia?
