Formatting hint captions and layers

May 26, 2020

I am doing a step by step simulations with hint captions on each screen. It's very time consuming to set up the correct look on each and ever hin layer. Is there a way to set up and save the formatting of a hint caption to apply it to each one. Or to set up a master hint caption layer?

Thanks!

Hi Jeni,

I'm not sure if there is an official way to set up a caption layer in the Slide Master view; however, there is a workround you can use by setting up a new Feedback Master with your caption layer details and formatting. Whenever feedback is provided with quiz questions, it always appears on a new layer and hence the Feedback Master view is set up specifically for layer formatting.

The only problem with setting up a formatted layer is that your hint caption will always appear in the same place, which may be a bit restrictive depending on how you want to display it. One way to improve this is to set up a number of different options under the same Feedback Master with your caption in different positions e.g Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left and Bottom Right.

When you get to the caption layer on your slide, simply right click on the slide and select the appropriate layout.
