[Solved] Formatting text from a variable

Jan 23, 2017

Hello,
I found on this forum some solutions to format the text of a text-box whose content is a variable.
These solutions only work for a few font sizes: 24, 18 and 12. (See screenshot and story in attachment)
Is there a solution that would work for ALL font sizes ?
Thank you

Hello Didac,

Thank you for sharing the screenshot and file here. How were you viewing the content when you took the screenshot? Was it in Preview mode or published? If it was published, which browser from this list of supported browsers were you using?

Here's a shot of what I'm seeing on my end, as well as the link to the published content in Articulate 360:

Thanks for your feedback

I tested the published version on Firefox 50.1.0 and Chrome 55.0.2883.87 with the same (bad) results. I tested html5 and html5 + flash.
But if I open your link https://360.articulate.com/review/content/5280d059-e1ae-47ab-b0b6-87c68cf8cc1e/review
The display is identical to your screenshot.

Hi there Didac,

Thanks for that update. Can you please test this link in Chrome and Firefox? I tested it in the exact browsers you listed above, and it looks as if the fonts are correct. Also, did you publish the content for Web and then upload it to a web server like Tempshare to test it? Were you working from your local hard drive when you created the content?

Chrome 55.0.2883.87

Firefox 50.1.0

When I look at the project you exported, everything is normal.

I put my project in c: / storyline but it does not change: always display problems for some font size.

If I open the project in flash (on my PC or on my platform is correct but not in html 5.

I attach the zip of the export.
Thank you for your help

Hi Didac,

It sounds like you are viewing this file from your local hard drive (c:) instead of uploading it to the environment for which it was published. If you view a course on your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail. You'll also want to be sure the project was created on your local hard drive

Perhaps you can record your screen using Peek to show me the exact steps you take when you publish and view the content? You can also reach out to our Support Engineers if you'd like one-on-one help troubleshooting further.

Hello Didac,

When you said that you put the zip file on your platform online, are you referring to a Learning Management System? I'm assuming so because you published for LMS. I followed the same steps you did (Peek recording here) and uploaded the file to SCORM Cloud, which is industry standard for LMS testing, and I did not see the issue.

One last thing I would recommend before we reach out to the Support Engineers for further assistance: follow these steps to upload the file to SCORM Cloud. If you do not see the issue in SCORM Cloud, then we can be certain that the issue is with your online platform.

If you do see the issue in SCORM Cloud, then I would recommend reaching out to our Support Engineers because we know the problem lies within the file. You can send them your file and a link to this forum thread using this form. And be sure to share your case number with me so I can follow along, as well.

Thanks to the very effective assistance of the help desk (Vevette Chua and Alyssa Gomez) the problem is identified : I am francophone and articulate 360 is configured in french. By putting it in English, it works correctly.

I guess a next product update will fix that. Anyway I can now publish my stroryline projects correctly :)
