Forwarding Articulate Slide

Sep 06, 2019

Dear all,

I am turning my screen recording (using PowerPoint) into a SCORM, and would like to find out how I can forward and rewind the video please. My file is 1-slide long, and contains only the video. I would also like to insert a progress bar if possible.

All suggestions welcome. Please ask if you require clarifications or more information.

Thank you.

Hey there, Zahra. I'm happy to point you in the right direction!

👉 First, here's the complete User Guide for Storyline 3. It'll help guide you through all the neat features it has to offer!

Video editing (forward/rewind): Could you share more detail on what you're looking to do? Storyline has video controls that can be turned on for learners to play, pause, rewind, and fast forward it. In the meantime, check out what's possible in the Adding and Editing section!

Progress bar: The Adding Interactive Objects section in the guide is a good place to start. Also, check out these examples, some ready for download:

Excited to see your creation, and let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Katie,

Thank you for your response. I am attaching my zip file. As mentioned, I have done a screen recording, and would like to convert it to SCORM with an option to forward, pause, & play the video please. I'd also like the learner to be able to view his/her progress on the video, to see how long is left etc.

Thank you & look forward to your response.

Hi Zahra,

Happy to provide detailed written steps here! Once you add the video in you'll want to do the following:

  1. Click on the Video Tools -> Options
  2. Look for the setting labeled "Show Video Controls" and you have an option of None or Below video
  3. If you enable, Below video you'll see those controls now appear in on the slide itself and they can be used by learners once uploaded to your LMS or within the course Preview in Storyline.

Hope that helps!
