Freeform drag and drop - snap to target

Feb 11, 2013

Hi,

Is there any way I can make a freeform drag and drop NOT snap to target.

It's got me stumped!

Hi,

Cant see your demo sorry (my work network has screenr blocked).

Apologies if this is an obvious and possibly patronising question/statement- on your above screenshot, you dont have any 'Drop targets' set?

Other than that my settings are the same as yours, and I can drop a shape anywhere on its drop target (it stays where I leave it), and is marked correct upon submission.

Thanks

Hi Will, I'm in my second week of use so don't worry about insulting me I'm very grateful for your help.

The demo I've followed and which pretty much works apart from this issue sees me trying to get it so that you can drag and drop three comma shapes onto a paragraph in order to punctuate it correctly.

Naturally the three commas are identical so there are three ways in which you could get this drag and drop right., As the standard drag and drop wants only one target per draggable I've converted it to freeform as the demo instructs and then used triggers for the pictures that change their state to 'dropped correclty' if they are put on any one of the three targets.

I've then got a correct and incorrect layer which are triggered if the submit button is clicked and all three pictures have a state of dropped correctly (or incorrectly). So I think that's possibly why it's ignoring me when I edit the drag and drop snap instruction, but I can;t figure where else I could undo snapping in the freeform drag and drop.

Sorry not sure- bit out of my experience range.

Had a look but same as you, I cant figure out how to set the drop settings on freeform shapes- storyline just seems to put it in the middle of a shape.

Can you not just have quite a small area they can drop the comma in, with the centre of the shape where the comma would be, so that it snaps to the correct area- but without giving the answer away by having a massive drop area? - You could have every space between words having a drop so that they can drop in the wrong place, just wont be marked correctly.
