freeform pick one for multiple fill in the blank quiz slide

Hi
I have created a freeform pick one slide with 5 data entry boxes. I have followed the video tutorial on your site but on entering the wrong answer I am unable to get the incorrect feedback layer, but a text box saying "you must complete your answer before submitting". I have tried different methods including variables and unable to get the incorrect layer to show up. Any suggestions would be welcome.
(Note:) I got it to work previously but lost the initial set up I had when I played around with it because of the fact that on revisiting it started showing the "you must complete your answer before submitting" instead of the correct/incorrect layers to show up.
Thanks
Tina

Hi there Tina,
Are you able to share your slide as an attachment here?
Hi Michael
Sure, it is attached
Hi Tina
here is a link to a demo file I did for evaluating multiple text fields (it’s a SL2] file but the principles are the same.
Things to check
hope this helps
Those are great suggestions Wendy! Storyline does execute triggers as they appear on the panel so ordering is crucial.
Tina,
I've checked the file you attached earlier. It appears there are two things that need to be changed.
I've attached the outputs of the correct and incorrect layers showing up properly after making the changes.
Hope this helps.
Hi Michael
Thanks for your excellent answer. It works now for me, the button triggers are important. I did have them at one point but must have had incorrect slide triggers for the correct and incorrect buttons then!
Hi Wendy
thanks for your great suggestions and yes the order of triggers does matter as I have found previously and with this example.
regards
Tina
Hi Tina
sorry I'm not sure I understand.
you are only giving them one attempt at answering the question. Do you want them to be able to progress to next slide then click previous and come back and answer it again?
What is the variable 'finished' set to true at the beginning of the slide mean? That is what is stopping you from redoing the because that is set to True and then used in the correct/incorrect triggers.
If you want them to have more than one attempt at answering you can increase that on the form view
