Freeform quiz with multiple answers

Feb 15, 2013

Hi all!

I am building a math course and want to incorporate self checks throughout the course.  I built the attached freeform quiz slide to accommodate this idea. However, when I change the answer in one text entry box, it changes the answer in all the text entry boxes.  For example, if I have an equation for the students to solve, let's say 3(2x + 4) = 24.  The steps the student needs to take to solve are as follows:

3(2x + 4) = 24

6x + 12 = 24

6x = 12

x = 4

For each of the last 3 steps, I would insert a text entry box. When the student finished, they would hit the submit button and receive feedback.  However, as you can see in the attached slide, when I change the answer in one text entry box, it changes the answer in all the text entry boxes.

Any help/feedback/corrections would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Elaine

Perhaps I wasn't clear. When you edit the response, you will see all the answers are the same. If you change an answer in one box (still in the Edit Response mode) the other answers will all be the same. Additionally, no matter what I put in the answer boxes when in preview mode, the slide thinks it is always correct.
