Full Screen option for Storyline player, is an enhancement on the product roadmap?

Jan 09, 2018

I've noticed this question has been posted on and off for a few years now, i'm new to Articulate, but it seems a no-brainer that a full screen option should be available as part of the Storyline player configuration, even if it's just for videos.  So, is there any plan or road-map to include a full screen option?  If there is a technical limitation please explain.  In my case I tend to publish to TinCan.  Thanks, Rob

Hi Robert,

Within Storyline there are a few settings you can change to set your course up to resize to a larger dimension for the screen. I'd look at using these two:

  • Resize browser to fill screen
  • Scale player to fill browser window

Those two items will force your player and the supporting browser to take up the largest amount of screen real estate possible. I also recommend that authors design at a story size which will match the majority of users' screens and devices.

These browser/player settings will not change the overall ratio of your story size dimensions though - which may be the part you're looking to see full screen? If we were to stretch a course that way, it could cause more blurriness/scaling or other display issues with your content.

Hope that helps clarify - and our team is always evaluating ideas shared here,  with us right here for future feature ideas. Here's a look inside how we plan our feature roadmap.

Hi Robert,

I have some great news to share! We just released a really cool feature that allows you to add a player toggle to let learners view courses in full-screen mode.

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find step-by-step instructions here.
