I'm working employees are senior citizens, novice technology users, who have **NEVER** used a computer before.
I want to create game based training for employee training and certification. Catch is- 1. The games should be idiot proof 2. Games would be deployed on tablets (kindle, ipad etc since users dont know how to train employees)
Is articulate a good choice for it? What are my alternatives without spending much.
If anyone has relative experience please let me know!
Storyline would be a perfect resource for training senior employees. I have a background in education and used game therapy to educate special needs students. At the time I was confined to simple PowerPoint game simulations in the classroom and looking back I wish I had Storyline in my arsenal. The quality, flexibility, costs and usability of Storyline for both the creator and end user is far and above anything I've used.
As far as ideas, most seniors are familiar with older game shows from the early years of television, so I would suggest incorporating a fun interactive course themed around one of the most popular of their time. Family Feud, $10,000 Pyramid, and Hollywood Squares are a few that come to mind.
Please let us know if you need more suggestions, and you may find it helpful to post over in our design-related Building Better Course forum, as well. All the best with your project, and please feel free to share your finished product to inspire others, too!
Thank you Christie for your input, and asking me to share my final work. I definitely will, I'm pretty excited about it.
I do have doubts about the integration of these games with our existing Learning Management System. -How do I authenticate the users -How do I have articulate talk to the LMS and update/track the progress of each employee and see how they're doing with their training.?
Hi, Navya -- Many thanks for your reply! I see that you went ahead and DID start that new discussion over here in this post, so I wanted to stop in the share a link for others who may be following along!
I will be sure to reply to your new post as soon as possible. :)
