Garbled contents in trigger panel
May 23, 2019
Hello everyone,
I have been working in a messed up trigger panel in Storyline this morning which is quite irritating and confusing.
Whenever I add a new trigger (or copy and paste one)on a layer, the leading of the already present trigger lines change, makes lines sit on top of one another and makes everything unreadable.
What also happens is that I can't move triggers up and down any more.
It can be corrected temporarily by stretching the height of the panel (whether it is connected or disconnected from Storyline) or selecting another layer of my file, and return to the previous one.
However, when I copy and paste a line, or I create a new one, it gets all garbled again.
Something wrong with the css file?
Anyone else having this problem?

Hello Marcel,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are running into with your triggers panel as well as that image.
This is an issue that our team is aware of and currently investigating.
I'll add this conversation to the report as we track user impact and so that we can share any updates with you here.
In the meantime, if you undock and re-dock the trigger panel, it should clear that overlapping up for you.
Hi Leslie. Thanks for your support and good to know they are on it :)
I'm seeing this also in my own project this morning. Have submitted a ticket to Articulate Support.
Thanks, Chris.
I've grabbed your case so that I can take a look.
I'm encountering the same issue and also found that the delete trigger icon becomes inoperable when this happens. I can still delete the trigger by using the delete key on my keyboard.
Hi Dan - thanks for sharing that note. I've added it to our report.
I'm experiencing the same problem. Triggers are sitting one on top of the other, only the first line showing. I can't even select the triggers from the panel. Dock and undocking the panel to read clearly is not an option, it's way too much time consuming, it adds quite a burden. Hope this is on your priority list.
I have had this problem a few times just recently and have generally found that shutting down and restarting Storyline tends to clear it. No guarantees though !
I've also been experiencing this problem on a regular basis over the last fortnight. Sometimes jumping to a different slide and back has resolved it but as Marcel said as soon as I make another change / add a new trigger it gets messed up again. This makes working with Storyline much more time consuming and frustrating so I'm glad to hear the support team are working on a solution.
Thanks for chiming in to share your experience as well, Annabelle.
This issue is high on our radar. By replying, you should now be subscribed to any updates we share here.
Hi, Do you have any news from your team. Can we expect a fix soon ? Thank you
And (by the way) to reward us with the possibility of obtaining a few dozen additional undos would allow the software to finally reach the 2000s
Great news, all! 🗞
Remember when text would overlap in the triggers panel? Well, that issue is now fixed in Update 3.30.19518.0 for Storyline 360!

If we can be of any other help, please don't hesitate to let us know!
