Gathering free text data from a course when the LMS is not capable

Feb 11, 2014

I've got an issue whereby a client wants to incorporate some free text survey questions in a course and gather the responses but unfortunately their LMS is not capable of collating the responses. The client is not desperate to have the responses recorded in their LMS, they just want to be able to gather and access the comments somewhere i.e. a spreadsheet or a website.

I am ideally looking to have this next to the relevant course content and don't want the learners leaving the course to do so.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

Hi Howie! What about embedding an  entry form as a web object? You could use something along the lines of the forms in Google Docs or a survey tool like Survey Gizmo, etc.  Both could neatly collect responses into a spreadsheet for sharing/ analysis etc.

How to embed a Google form

That looks like it's work but i can't see them allowing google docs as it's quite a big company.

The web object approach definitely seems the way.

Just as an aside. Can the results slides pass the results to a google form?
