Getting student ID in LMS

Hi

Not sure if this question is for Storyline or for the LMS.

For a Storyline project (SCORM 2004, 4th edition) published to an LMS, does Storyline generate a student ID by having the appropriate thing in the file (variable? javascript?)? Or is it the LMS that generates the student ID? When the learner logs into the LMS using their email address/password, doesn't that somehow attach a student ID to that Storyline file?

Separate note: Am I the only one that has to click on a seemingly endless number  of river scenes and street signs to prove that I'm not a robot?
