Are you asking about something like the Articulate Online API?
The Articulate Online API lets your Articulate Online account communicate with other applications, such as your company's user database or an e-commerce application. Learn more here.
I can't set up users if I just publish content to the web, but I want to be able to do so. This means I need software that can do it and if I had my own licensed copy of the software you use on your server for Articulate Online then I could do so.
Well, just consider it a suggestion to start licensing your software you use for Articulate Online.
I really have no clue why Articulate would dismiss such an opportunity to make more money and provide users with what they want.
I can see the advantage of having it as a closed system and charging a monthly fee. If I were your CEO, this would be a great aspect of the business. But there are customers you have that may not want to use an LMS that doesn't work as well, is buggy, or hard to learn or just cost too dang much. That is why it would make sense to license something you are already using and make it available to your devoted fan base.
I would if I believed it might happen, but I predict my suggestion will be considered for a few seconds and then rejected because you've got bugs that have been reported for years and haven't been fixed and bugs should always take priority. The problem with being number one at anything is that it's easy to get lazy and neglectful and that would explain why you've got bugs that don't get fixed for years. I don't think your company takes suggestions any more serious than those bugs and so that is why we are relegated to some private system to make suggestions. WordPress has a very public system where you can actually identify a feature or a bug and actually watch people fix it and they aren't even getting paid to do so. Your system should be more transparent and far more swift to show that you are listening and responsive.
I got a response about this particular possibility of selling the server software. Evidently, some years ago, it was an offering but no longer. Thank you.

Here's how to enable the API in your Articulate Online account.
No, I don't mean the Articulate Online API.
I want to host my own Articulate Online with the capabilities that Articulate Online has such as creating user accounts.

Hi Joseph!
We only offer Articulate Online hosted on our servers.
You may want to check out this article that is full of useful LMS information from our community :)

You are welcome to share that as a feature request here Joseph.
